About Golden Gate Fortune Cookies:
Golden Gate Fortune Cookies is not the only bakery in the City that churns out fortune cookies. They are, however, the only one who makes them the exact same way they did since they opened in 1962.

While others have embraced the technology that allows them to produce more cookies faster and at a lower cost, Golden Gate Fortune Cookies has instead held to the old-fashioned way of making their cookies.

You won’t find any factory equipment at Golden Gate Fortune Cookies, which is located in Chinatown. Instead, you’ll see two women making the cookies by hand and, amazingly, cranking out 20,000 cookies every single day.

When you visit, you will be able to watch them craft the cookies and then bring some home for the great price of $3 for 40 cookies. It’s tempting to whip out your camera and snap a photo of the women at work, but be warned: they ask a price of 50 cents for the right to take pictures.
