If you’re planning a visit to our beautiful Hotel Union Square during the spring then you’ll find plenty of Things to do in San Francisco during your stay. Read below to learn about some of the top spring San Francisco Activities. Of course, this list is not all-inclusive! There are endless things to do and see when you stay at our ideally-located San Francisco Hotel.

See the Golden Gate Bridge
This iconic structure is by far one of the City’s most recognizable landmarks. Its orange color and interesting design has endeared this San Francisco Attraction to both locals and visitors. You can gaze on the Bridge from afar, or get up close and personal via car, bike, or foot. Walking or biking across the Golden Gate Bridge is a wonderful way to enjoy the weather and one-of-a-kind views of San Francisco Bay.

Visit Alcatraz Island
Yes, this is one of the most touristy Things to Do in San Francisco, but if you’ve never visited this infamous former prison then it should definitely be on your list. You can take a self-guided tour (free, but you’ll have to pay for the ferry ride to the Island) or go for a guided tour. Night tours are also available for those who want to ramp up the spooky factor of a visit to this Attraction in San Francisco.

Wander Around the Mission District
The Mission District is a little out of the way, so for visitors who want to avoid the biggest crowds it’s a great choice. When you visit the Mission District you will get an idea of what locals love about their City. Browse the charming boutiques and book stores, and absolutely do not miss the chance to try some of San Francisco’s very best Mexican food at one of the Mission District’s many Restaurants.

People who live in San Francisco love to spend time outdoors, and there are plenty of places to enjoy some hiking. One popular spot for this San Francisco Activity is Twin Peaks. When you reach the peak, which is 922 feet above the City and the 2nd highest point in San Francisco, you’ll be rewarded with gorgeous views.

Ride the Cable Cars
No other city in the country has a cable car system anymore, so take advantage of the chance to ride one of these iconic modes of transportation during your visit. As you make your list of Spring Things to do in San Francisco, keep in mind that the cable cars are not the speediest way to get around the city, but you will have a great time as the cars traverse the hills and the open-air cars let you feel the breeze on your face.

Bid Adieu to the Sea Lions at Pier 39
But don’t worry – they’ll be back! Most of the sea lions that lounge around Pier 39 typically head south in June or July, so spring is still a great time to see these guys before they move on for the summer. Be sure not to feed them as this is illegal, but don’t worry as there is plenty of fish in the waters for them to get their fill.

Stop by Ferry Building Marketplace
Indulge in some gourmet treats at this popular Attraction in San Francisco. You’ll find all sorts of yummy delights including cheeses, seafood, hand-crafted chocolates, and much more. These are high-end treats, so they cost a little more but are well worth it.

The great thing about this City is that these spring Activities are also available throughout the year. The weather is amazing no matter when you visit, so whether you’re coming in spring, summer, fall, or winter, you’ll find lots of Things to do in in San Francisco.
